When you activate the electronic signature in a Parallel, you can quickly identify the status of that signature, both in the list of requests and at the bottom of the Replies tag of each petition.
- No eSignature configured: You have not added an electronic signature process yet. In order to do so, you can click in the signature box at the bottom of the petition or go to the petition's Compose tab and enable a eSignature in Settings.
In the status column of the petitions list, no eSignature icon will appear in a petition where the eSignature has not been enabled.
eSignature not started: This status means that the eSignature has been enabled in Settings, but it has not yet been started.
This status will only appear when the eSignature has been configured to be started manually. Once you have finished reviewing the answers, you can click Start..., designate the person who will sign and manually send the signature. In this situation, you can always cancel and disable the eSignature option.
- eSignature pending: This status means that the eSignature has already been sent, either automatically (after the recipient has completed the petition) or manually (once you have reviewed all the answers and sent the petition to sign), and is awaiting to be signed.
This situation does not require any action on your part, but you can also cancel and disable the eSignature option at any time, as long as the person to whom the petition has been sent to sign has not done so yet.
- eSignature completed: This status means that a petition has been signed, so the eSignature process has been completed. The signed document is ready to download.
At this point, you can also add another signature if you wish, by clicking . If so, you will start a new signature process for this petition, which will be independent of the previous one, although you will always be able to access the previous signature.
Therefore, the icon in the list of petitions will go back to pending , and the status in the signature box of the petition will look like this:
- eSignature cancelled: Once a signature process has been cancelled, the status of the signature in the signature box of the petition will appear as Cancelled and you will have to start a new process if you want to include a signature.
